What is open enrollment?
Open enrollment is defined as the process in which students that live within the attendance area of their resident district attend another public school district outside their geographically assigned district.
Students must apply for open enrollment within the three week application period. The open enrollment application period is established in state law as beginning on the first Monday in February and ending at 4 p.m. on the third Friday that follows the first Monday in February. The application period for the 2010-11 school year is February 1-19, 2010.
